Awning Assembler

Queen City Awning is an established organization and industry leader with over 145 years in the design of custom shade solutions is seeking to hire an awning assembler. Duties and responsibilities:

• Review and analyze work orders to ensure proper materials are being used.
• Review production schedules to ensure the manufacturing of product(s) are completed and scheduled delivery dates are met.
• Perform a variety of assembly work associated with the manufacturing of custom awnings.
• Manually fit and size various materials to metal framing such as stapling, lacing, tek screwing and sheet metal work.
• Enter stop and start times on a computer to ensure schedules are accurately maintained.
• Maintain quality standards as well as time standards.
• Ability and willingness to assist other departments to meet schedule deadlines when called upon.
• Adhere to all safety regulations including wearing of proper PPE.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
• Review and analyze work orders to ensure proper materials are being used.
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical requirements:

• Able to lift 50-75 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to kneel, bend and stand up to 8 hours per day performing various task.
• Ability to reach horizontally across a work surface 12” from body up to full body extension.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma required.
• Ability and willingness to learn a new trade.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools such as pneumatic staple gun, locking vise grips, band saw, grinder, and variety of hand tools for sheet metal work.
• Ability to accurately read, understand and demonstrate how to use a tape measure to the nearest 1/16” of an inch.
• Excellent mathematical skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Must be drug free; drug screening required.
• Must have valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.

Working Hours

6:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Thursday. Overtime possible.
